Got an extra quarter?
From a Post-Dispatch assistant managing editor: “We’re raising the newsstand price of the daily paper to 75 cents on Monday, Oct. 1.”
It’s not the first to increase daily single-copy prices:
• The Baltimore Sun increased to 75 cents from 50 cents.
• The New York Times increased to $1.25 from $1.
• The Wall Street Journal increase to $1.50 from $1.
OK, so 75 cents isn’t that much considering all of the information you get from a newspaper. But when I can get it online for free, how is that really helping the plight of newspapers?
