See traffic cameras on your cell phone

Houston’s Channel 39 is offering on-demand traffic reports. Cell phone users can view “near real-time” images and video of traffic hotspots (i.e., where there are cameras). The free application connects users to traffic cameras in the area; users must first download software to their data-enabled phone.

Built by 3rd Dimension Inc., the application is also available in New York, and is “coming soon” to Kansas City, Milwaukee and Indianapolis.
