Dusting off the classics

I hate moving. Which, I guess, is kind of odd since I seem to do it every year or two. There are always those boxes that are never unpacked, though. They find their way from the back of one closet to the back of a new closet.
I moved (again) about two weeks ago. Most of the big stuff is put away (OK, the kitchen’s a mess.), but I’ve been inspired to unpack everything and find it a home. So tonight, it was a box that has not been unpacked in several years — I’m guessing 2004. Inside? Several computer disks; I don’t even have a computer anymore that’ll read them. And several books: The AP stylebook I had in college. Several few novels. A couple of biographies. And several classics: “To Kill a Mockingbird,” “The Catcher in the Rye,” “Animal Farm,” and what I’d consider a newer classic, “The Chocolate War.”
They all have a new home on an actual bookshelf. (Although the bookshelf is tucked in a closet … ) I can’t believe it took me nearly four years to unpack them, and it’s sad that I didn’t miss them in the past four years.
