Sam may send the message not to take yourself too seriously, but this is just odd. No one would go to this level of detail in a new hire release. Maybe in an interview after they were hired. Even then it crosses the line.

I've been a big skeptic of his dangerously leveraged takeover of Tribune, but it certainly does appear that's not the only reason to dislike him.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she wrote it herself. This is the latest in a line of press releases written by new Trib execs that embody Zell’s idea that folks shouldn’t take themselves too seriously. Earlier, similarly bizarre releases were written by the new hires themselves. Sexist or not, I’ll bet you a pica pole that it was her choice.
