Marketing director takes over new media at Times of NWI
Marketing director Theresa Badovich (and one of my favorite former co-workers) is taking over new media at The Times of Northwest Indiana, one of my alma maters. Theresa’s one of journalism’s best and brightest, to be sure, no matter what challenge is thrown her way. I can’t wait to see what she does with nwi.com.
Web guru Yuri Victor was promoted to online product manager; no word on who (if anyone) is taking over the marketing department.

We have made great strides in the Media Center this year in development of content for nwi.com. Building on this trail of success, two personnel reassignments are being made to further enhance our online growth. These include:
Theresa Badovich becomes Managing Editor – New Media. Theresa brings a wealth of news, design and marketing experience to the position. She will lead a team to grow and enhance nwi.com content while working as part of a Lee corporate team shaping the future blend of online and print.
Yuri Victor becomes Online Product Development Manager. Blending programming, news and marketing skills that have set him apart in the online sector, Yuri will zero in on developing new products for nwi.com. He will also serve as liaison between the Media Center and Online Department.
I believe these staffing changes and other anticipated personnel shifts will take our online offering to a new level. Please offer your congratulations and cooperation to Yuri and Theresa as they begin to meet their new challenges.

This will be third time in three different departments that I’ve worked with Theresa. Erica is right. Theresa is one of journalism’s best and brightest. I’m excited to be working with her again. We’ve been lucky to have 80 percent page view growth year over year and I’m confident Theresa will keep the trend a going.
However, I have a question: I’m not one of your favorite former co-workers?

Of course, I should have clarified that Yuri is also a favorite former co-worker!
I’ve had a lot of editors during my nearly four years at The Times. First there was Theresa who hired me, then Erica, then Yuri and now Theresa again. I feel very lucky to have had such awesome editors.
