Danica Patrick, what are you thinking?
Seriously, what was she thinking?
GoDaddy’s CEO Bob Parsons thinks a lot of himself, and said people expect the company to have “edgy” Super Bowl ads. Do boobs really sell domains and web hosting plans?
(I do have a site hosted with GoDaddy. I haven’t had any problems with the domain or hosting and customer service has been top-notch, but I’m still reconsidering whether the site will stay there. And I like Andy Carvin’s pondering: What would happen if BlogHer got all of its members to boycott GoDaddy?)

Those ads were simply dumb more than they were offensive.
At the risk of getting into this “gender definition” stuff, I think people need to realize that nutcase mom blogs and Bridezilla showcases are far, far more damaging than these superficial ads. When I see these GoDaddy ads, I see just a few bimbos acting up for the camera. When I read nutcase mom blogs, I see a large number of people obsessing in an unhealthy fashion about packing lunches and bashing celebrities.
Summary: Nutcase mom blogs are worse than GoDaddy.com.
I actually thought these were pretty tame compared to some of their past ads, and other companies have gone MUCH further. It’s nothing really new…remember, sex sells.
“What would happen if BlogHer got all of its members to boycott GoDaddy?”
they’d lose about 2700 clients, a drop in the bucket.
