Also see the 10-year history of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.		 Compares the number of homicides, per month and year, from 2005 to 2008. Created using XML/SWF Charts and updated every month. PAPER CUTS ST. LOUIS HOMICIDES MIDWEST FLOODING ENDORSEMENTS
Buyouts and layoffs at newsrooms across the country updated from an XML file. Markers are color-coded to indicate the number of buyouts/layoffs at each paper. I wrote the JavaScript and XML files. The 2009 map uses tabbed markers.

 Homicides in the city limits from 2005 to 2008. The map has an option to show specific years, or any combination of years, and is updated each month. I wrote the JavaScript file and used Google Docs to create the XML file. Flood stages on the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. I wrote the JSON file, which pulls live data from NOAA. Color-coded flood gauges are shown for each point.

SPRING TRAINING LOCAL GOLF COURSES ILLINOIS EARTHQUAKE
Spring training locations for the Cactus and Grapefruit leagues with stadium and ticket information. The JSON map calls information from a spreadsheet, and displays it in tabs.

Similar project: Lincoln’s life in Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois		 St. Louis area golf courses, color-coded according to the size of the course. Caspio — the preferred database system at work — did not offer the flexibility and options that the map needed, so I wrote a JavaScript file that did. User-enabled map lets readers show where they were and what they experienced April 18 when a 5.2-magnitude earthquake shook the Midwest. Created with Zee Maps.

Bingo cards are generated from a JavaScript file. Find your pirate name for Talk Like a Pirate Day. Names are generated from a JavaScript file.
